The Adult 12 Program provides an opportunity to complete a high school education in a shorter period of time; this is different than a GED, which we do not offer. While additional prerequisites may still be required by some post-secondary institutions, an Adult 12 standing will open doors at a number of technical and trade schools, apprenticeship programs and some university programs.
Learners must complete 7 specific credits:
Canadian Studies 30
Math 20 or 30
Science 20 or 30
2 - 30 level electives
High school prerequisites are waived for those that choose this path.
You may choose to take any of these courses online through Sun West DLC or simply challenge the departmental examination (link to Ministry of Ed pg) to obtain your Adult 12 Diploma.
This is a big decision and we encourage you to give us a call to learn more. Our Credit Counsellors would be happy to walk you through all of the considerations around obtaining your Grade 12 diploma. We're here to help.
If you are looking to move onto post-secondary, be sure to explore our Dual Credit options. Working in partnership with Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Saskatchewan, we can help learners enrolled in these courses to earn high school and post secondary credits at the same time.
