AET20 Boot Camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic

Bruno student Cole Ebner was one of nearly 50 grade 11 and 12 students from across the province who took part in our AET20 Boot Camp on November 29 & 30 at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon. At boot camp, Agricultural Equipment Technician (AET20) students got an insider’s view of what a career as an AET would look like. They toured campus, changed engine oil (as seen above), worked on hydraulics, learned about transmissions, and were mentored by third and fourth year AET apprentices, among many more hands-on activities offered by Sask Poly. (See photo gallery)

This is the first year that Sun West DLC has offered AET20 which includes online theory, a work placement at a local ag equipment dealership, and the boot camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Students are able to take the course at no cost, thanks to the generous support of the Western Equipment Dealers Association and ag equipment dealers across the province. If you know someone who is a problem solver and passionate about agriculture, encourage them to check out AET20 – or AET30 when it launches next September! https://sunwestdlc.ca/course/agricultural-equipment-technician-20l
